What an engagement actually looks like.
Meridian is deliberate by design. An engagement follows a considered sequence — from understanding an objective in full to advancing the relationships it genuinely requires — held throughout by discretion and stewardship.
Five stages, one continuous relationship.
The sequence below is how we work — not a promise of what will happen. Each stage is entered only when the one before it is genuinely complete. Nothing is rushed to a schedule.
- 01
Assess
We begin by understanding the objective in full — the outcome that matters, the constraints around it, and the standard by which success will be judged.
- 02
Map
We map the landscape of people and institutions whose alignment the objective genuinely requires — and, just as deliberately, those it does not.
- 03
Position
We prepare the ground so that, when a relationship is introduced, both sides meet with context, credibility, and a reason to proceed.
- 04
Connect
We introduce relationships selectively and only where there is mutual merit. An introduction is made when it is right — never on a schedule.
- 05
Advance
We stay with the objective as it moves from a promising conversation toward a durable, working relationship — and the outcome it was meant to serve.
Beneath every stage
Stewardship
Discretion, judgment, and the long view run beneath the entire sequence. We hold relationships in trust — protecting confidence on every side — long after any single introduction is made.
A structure suited to the objective.
Engagements are advisory relationships. We shape the structure around what the objective requires rather than a fixed product.
Standing Advisory
An ongoing relationship for principals and institutions who benefit from continuous counsel and access to the network as objectives evolve.
Defined Mandate
A focused engagement organised around a single, well-formed objective — a specific alignment, expansion, or initiative to be advanced.
Introductory Engagement
A first, bounded piece of work that lets both sides establish fit and trust before any broader relationship is considered.
Advisory and investment are kept separate.
Meridian's core work is advisory — counsel and considered introductions. On a selective basis, and entirely separately, Meridian may participate in an opportunity where interests are genuinely aligned.
When that is the case, the investment relationship is defined on its own terms and disclosed plainly. We never blur the line between advising on a relationship and holding a position in its outcome.
A considered few, not a broad many.
Principals & Family Offices
Individuals and single-family offices whose objectives depend on the right relationships being formed with care.
Institutions & Investors
Organisations pursuing alignment, expansion, or partnership where trust and context matter more than transaction volume.
Public & Private Leaders
Leaders coordinating complex initiatives that only move when public and private interests share a single objective.
How the sequence plays out.
Illustrative and anonymized. Not a specific client, engagement, or outcome.
A family office wants to enter a new market where success depends less on capital than on being understood by the right institutions. We assess the objective and the standard for success, then map the small number of relationships that genuinely matter.
We position the principal so that context and credibility precede any meeting, and connect them to a first relationship only when the merit is mutual. We then stay close to advance the relationship toward a working partnership — with stewardship throughout.
What we will and will not do.
Advisory, not lobbying
We provide strategic counsel and considered introductions. We do not lobby, and we do not represent clients before government bodies.
Alignment, not guarantees
We prepare the ground and introduce relationships on merit. We never promise a specific introduction, decision, or outcome.
Discretion, always
Every engagement is confidential. We protect the interests and identities of all sides, and we hold relationships in trust.
Begin with a conversation.
Every engagement starts the same way — a confidential, considered conversation about the objective and whether Meridian is the right partner to advance it.
